Melbourne Kitty Pool

Dice Kitty Pool Banner

I’ll go right ahead and be completely honest and say I am not 100% sure what the point of this news post is, or what satisfaction it will give any readers that view it, but George told me to write something about it so here I am. Plus he made a pretty little banner and i didn’t want to disappoint him.

This is.. an update i suppose, of the Kitty Pool for Melbourne from snatch/dice competitions.

We originally said we would consider using this idea at the first competition we ran a few weeks ago and decided to implement it for that, and many future snatch/dice competitions to come :). From the 1st comp we only added in $200 from the rego money, but in future comps held by us we hope to increase this amount to $375 for 8 team 1-dayer comps simply by increasing the rego of each player from $20 to the standard $25. This will still mean that 2nd place will still get their money back, 1st place will still get double their money, and the kitty is almost doubled per comp simply but increasing the rego by $5 per player. If we later on do some 16 team competitions this amount will obviously increase exponentially. Over just a few more competitions you will see this kitty get quite large, hopefully somewhere well over $1,000 or maybe even as much as $2,000 if we run alot of comps, which is a very realistic achievement by the next interstate nationals (most likely ESWC as AINC will be here in melbourne).

The distribution of the kitty will be as follows:
- Teams who receive an autoberth (paid flights will not receive any of the kitty)
- All teams who receive an invite (nothing paid), if the invite is accepted, will all receive an evenly-split amount of the kitty between the total number of invite teams.

If you think about it realistically, the next interstate nationals will probably only have 4 spots for melbourne, 2 spots over 2 qualifiers, and the 1st place at each qualifier will be an autoberth… This means that the remainding 2 teams will get 50% of the kitty… which will be several hundred dollars per team, which will be a massive contribution towards flights.

This means that, if the kitty is large enough, we could potentially get 4 melbourne teams with paid flights as opposed to 2, but of course this is all speculation and will totally depend on the number of competitions ran and how much goes into the kitty from each competition.

Well… thats it i guess, there isnt really anything else to add except that i have zero remorse for shameless advertising of clan names.

Current Kitty Amount: $1,000
