Gamerthon is coming!

Flicking through the MX newspaper on the way home from work today I noticed a few familiar faces in the MX Techno section.

Upon closer inspection, it was Melbourne’s own Zero Remorse + slut featuring (from left to right): funboy, davestr1zl, benor (StensGaming), mrt (source), and gamz.

It seems like the massive size of the Gamerthon event Anything Interactive (AI) are putting together is finally being put in perspective and coming together nicely with big sponsors backing them. It definitely looks very impressive already and will be unlike anything Australian gamers have ever seen locally.

Gamerthon is a seven-day gaming festival and it’s heading for Melbourne

From March 31 to April 6, Gamerthon promises team gaming tournaments, public gaming competitions, more than $50,000 in prizes to win and even a visit from Australia’s top Counter-Strike Source team, Sydney Underground.

Gaming titles featured at Gamerthon will include Halo 3, Dead of Alive 4, Counter-Strike, FIFA 2008, and 2007’s best seller, Call of Duty 4.

Run by Anything Interactive at the ACMI in Federation Square, check out the Interstate teams, win prizes and compete in the search for Australia’s Next Top Guitar Hero in the Yamaha Riff Wars.
