iBisQ Returns
May 6, 2008

The old home of Melbourne Counter-Strike iBisQ is coming back, and back in a big way. The renovations are pretty much complete and let me be the first (or second) to say after testing these machines out it looks very promising.
For our beloved Counter-Strike and all other Steam games, everything is updated via the Steam Cafe software on the local network (yes this includes Counter-Strike Source). There is ample mousepad room (check pictures below), clean desks and the machines run 1.6 perfectly and feels very very smooth. You can also adjust mouse and graphics settings.
For Warcraft III / World of Warcraft the new owner (Callum) has put in place a system which checks for software and map updates every day.
The major changes include:
- Upgrade of PC’s
- Clean everything (they will be cleaning keyboards and desks each day)
- Improved lighting
- Insulation of the roof (less noise when it rains)
- Heating/Air con
The machines specs are as follows:
- AMD Athlon 62 X2 5200+
- 2GB DDR2 800
- 250GB Hard drives
- ASUS 512MB 8500GT
- Diamond Digital 19″ CRT Monitors - 100htz @ 1024×768 (or max 85htz on higher res)
- Front Audio/USB ports
- ADSL2+ Internet Connection
Pricing:
- $3.50 per hour for members
- $13.00 for 5 hours
+ more hour packages to come as well as having the ability to use eftpos
+ if you were a member there previously, the hours are carried over - same login software
After a chat with the new owner Callum Bruce, he’s expressed interested in hiring the venue out for Counter-Strike competitions as well as the possible return of iBisQ league style events - which will include different games such as UT3, COD4 etc
And as per usual, iBisQ will also is also interested in sponsoring teams - for any competative game, not just CS of course.
With iBisQ’s major upgrades, we could possibly be seeing the return of nationals being held in Melbourne.

please Callum, have the train, dust2, nuke map fixes for cs 1.6! so there won’t be any issues on flashbug -.-
graphics cards are a bit on the lowdown
8500gt’s, worse than VA’s cards (va runs source at around 50fps)
no sourcers then
omgomg exciting!! hehe xD woo
LOL yeah due to the extensive work we have had to do, we opted for a lower end G-Card to all other upgrades. The graphics cards are the first on the list of upgrades. We have put in place an extensive upgrade plan that allows us to upgrade components every 6 months.
Hey also just ran the video stress test on the systems and in the source video stress test they scored 126.86 FPS
Yeah it looks really good. Keen to play in comps there :D.

Hey Johnny. We have used a rating 3 poly bat that is completely safe and alergen free. and due to the new heating system haveing a fine dust particle filter there wont be to much of an issue with dust.
