Gamapalooza 08 Leg #1
September 29, 2008

Team Sublime staged a stunning victory on day 2 to win the tournament crawling back from the lower bracket to win the tournament in an action packed 1st Leg of Gamaplooza.
The 4th place WCG finisher Sublime was sent to the lower bracket early on de_inferno despite their 10-5 lead in the first half when they clashed with their greatest rivals Dr. Ramachandran (DrR). From that moment onwards, Sublime had a series of close games but none closer than when they faced DrR again on de_nuke in the Grand Final.
Coming from the losers bracket, Sublime had to win two to secure their victory over DrR. As the match started, DrR shot to a 11-4 lead in the first half and was in great form to take out Gamapalooza undefeated when they further extended their lead to 15-9 on CT half. However it was not to be when Sublime pulled back with coordinated ramp rushes with fake tops throwing the game into overtime 5 times in what can only be seen to be believed. Sublime pulled ahead 31-27.
The deciding map was train which again went into overtime and came down to a 1v1 (after a 1v2) with arguably the two best players for both teams, rickeh & blank. The bomb was down at vines and Rickeh had an awp in the yard next to E Box. Both players knew where eachother was. Blank spots Rick first, fires but doesn’t do enough damage. Rick returns fire with the awp but misses as blank slides in and out behind the 6 train into vines. Rick switches back to glock and walks queitly to vines and charges around the corner to surprise blank and end the game 19-15.
