Hi,
Thought I would start a blog going for my adventure to China. In approximately 12 hours I will be leaving Australia, heading to Beijing China for 3 weeks. It all started about 3 weeks ago, when the guys from Immunity asked me if I knew any Competitions Immunity could possibly attend leading into WCG or Post WCG. Since I have struck up a bit of a friendship with Pus and Nixon on HLTV.org with the 100’s of emails they get from me a week they put me onto the right track and listed a few events. After a little bit of digging, I finally go in contact with Anne Matthews from Fnatic.com
We struck up a bit of a conversation and she revealed to me that there might be a spot open for Immunity to attend MSI BEAT IT (I think mTw or FX had pulled out). So a few more emails to both Anne and Tony/Sentinel from Immunity and the ball was rolling.
From the moment I heard about the competition I was keen to go for three reasons, one because I felt I was involved in the journey and a chance to watch some top tier CS (a game I have dedicated almost 10years of my life too), A chance to get meet some contacts from the larger teams in an attempt to get some teams out here for a competition or a PR tour. If you have ever talked to me late night on vent you have probably heard my spiel about how teams like Fnatic and others go to countries like Thailand for end of year holidays, and that could just as easily be Australia. The final reason was the biggest; My Dad is currently in China on business for a few months. So a chance to see a new country and visit my Dad combined with the CS elements made the trip to good to turn down.
I applied for and accepted a Media Pass for the event, so I will be covering the event for DiceVip. I have some strategies in my head of who and what I want to do, but since this is my first event, I’m not sure how much time International players will dedicate to me for an interview. But we will see how it goes. I am also staying in the same hotel as the competitors so maybe some after hour’s footage could be a possibility.
I don’t have any photos or anything since I haven’t left yet LOL, but the next entry will be from China (internet permitting).
I suppose you can leave some comments if there is any questions to particular players you would like to ask.
