SQL Blog: Day 1

We all met up at Sydney Airport to board our 8:30am flight to Hong Kong which took 9.5 hours. The flight was enjoyable as the plane was practically empty which meant we had 2-4 seats each to ourselves.

Once we arrived in Hong Kong at around 2:40pm (localtime), we were instantly hussled into a shuttle bus which took us into the city to where we were staying - all compliments to our sponsors AMD!

After settling into our suite which happened to be in the heart of Kowloon, we went to get food as the meals served on the plane is always turd. We went to a traditional noodle bar where emir thought he would be a Turkish superstar and order the hottest noodle thinking he was some sort of stud. It was only seconds into his meal that he was sweating immensly and his nose running like a tap.

We walked around the city and did a bit of window shopping after a late lunch and returned to our hotel to get changed to go out clubbing. I spoke to some Hong Kong CS players on MSN and asked them where the best clubs would be and they directed me to Lan Kwai Fong which is the bar/clubbing district of Hong Kong. It was a Thursday night so not all places were full, but there were a lot of people out, many of which were Australian. Strangely enough, there seemed to be more Australians then Asians.

Kowloon

We went to one club which seemed to be the most full which was an RNB club. Only minutes of being inside we spotted emir grinding up against what seemed to be quite a masculine figure. Little did emir know, this was blatently a ladyboy. We allowed emir to continue to have a bit of fun with this bloke until he asked to return to emirs room. Emir being a keen Turkish stallion was quick to give him the address. It was then we decided it had gone too far and alerted emir to the fact it was a bloke as all good teammates do. What chemistry!

We ended up getting back to our rooms at around 3:00am to get some sleep before practicing RS-Gaming the next day. What an interesting first day in Hong Kong!

SQL should have no problems stomping over HK teams, they're no where near as good as the chinese teams.

yea we lost fairly convincingly to RS-gaming. they are solid but i think it was more so we were rusty(ok, shit)!
i'm not too worried, as i think we are a team that rides on intensity and there was just none yesterday, silent-gaming.
The lan centre we went to was absolute junk! Had all these asian dudes behind us constantly screaming and yelling whilst playing L4D, and the whole cafe used speakers playing CS. Reminded me of 2003 when used to go 32 player aztec in hurstville! I took a couple of POV and will upload asap for any1 interested (doubtful). Other than that we had a wicked night at Beijing club.
I think the next step is probably geeking it and refreshing all our strats and watching demos!
I saw rory was writing a blog earlier so he should post that soon!
