Hi everyone, just wanted to share our final installment of our blog to WCG in Chengdu now that we're all back!

After having good time in Hong Kong, we arrived to Chengdu on the 10th. We met with the rest of the aussie team at the airport and picked up by WCG volunteers. First, we were not very sure where we staying at so I had the ask the WCG volunteers and they said we are staying at 18 Steps. We were not really happy with this so I decided to talk to the volunteers to change our hotel but they said that they are not authorized we have to talk to main admins.

After 30 minutes drive, we arrived to Holiday Inn ( Where the rego and all the admins are) and started having argument with the head admins (me and sue). To be honest, I knew we are staying at 18 Steps but was just trying to be smart ass to stay in Holiday Inn :)

The conversation with the admins didn’t go very well so we had to catch shuttle bus to 18 Steps. When we got the hotel first, we saw a mini map at the lobby which has Basketball Court, Swimming Pool and Spa. I was actually quite happy after seeing those things on the map and said “man, I think here is better than I thought, at least we have something to do”. We did rego and hit to the rooms. The rooms were nice and tidy and I was really feeling better.

After 30 minutes settling up, we wanted to see around like basketball court and swimming pool etc. It took 10 minutes walk to see the basketball court. The basketball court was in between slums and really bad, so we had the first shock and it followed by empty swimming pool, brothel in the hotel which is spa in polite meaning haha

2nd day we had opening ceremony at the venue but we were a bit cut because of the hotel so we actually didn’t go to opening ceremony. We also had opening party for the players including dinner. Well I couldn’t eat, neither anyone else. I think there should be the menu’s photo (I liked turtle :> )

3rd day The big day came through, we were so excited to play ! We had small breakfast at the venue and started setting up. Our first game was against Denmark mTw, we started CT and won the pistol round. We were really fired up and trying hard but as you know we were actually not really well prepared on tuscan.

Our 2nd game was against Russia Virtus. We were planning to upset them because inferno is our 1 of the favorite map. Started CT again and played awesome after 4-0. We played so well as a team on CT half but still didn’t help us on our T half.

Our 3rd game against Votos Locos could have been disaster. We played another decent CT half on Nuke but struggled on T half last rounds. We lost few 3v5 or 2v5 rounds. We still managed to beat Greece VL and started waiting for our last game Finland Power Gaming.

After we had lunch, we found out we can actually go thru if we beat PG. We fired up before the game and again started CT half on Train. We were not doing our best but on CT half but it was still ok. We knew the game was really important for us so we had team talk before the 2nd half for 5-10 minutes. Lost unluckily pistol round however managed to win so many gun rounds and we won our 15th rounds. Somehow we were playing so good till 15th round, I dunno how but just couldn’t win the game. Everyone was so upset nothing else to say..

After we lost, no one went to venue. Myself hit to city and saw New Zealand Parallax guys, went shopping and more ~  and the others hanged around hotel because they got sick.

I was there for a while to watch the finals, saw the massive crowed. People were crazy when loordb won 1v3. I stayed with parallax guys for the closing ceremony. There was also farewell party for the players. Again, tried to eat but I failed. I put on 2kilos in Hong Kong and lost 4 in Chengdu :(

We also had some chance to talk to the other players such as Sweden Spawn, Danish team's leader (cant remember his name), Finnish players and Indonesian players.

Danish leader was saying that so many new talents are becoming progamer in Denmark recently and his team (Raven) beat mTw at the Danish finals once and drew. Sponsorships are strong and helping the teams improve said Danish leader.

Spawn mentioned that he may not continue playing CS while we playing our drinking game with parallax guys. Also team parallax will be trying for next competition for sure but they seemed like they were not happy with their new 5th.

Maybe u guys remember Indonesia Ferdinand “Fer” Putra Indonesian player, he was there and leading Indo crew. We went dinner with whole Indo crew. They are really friendly and cool guys. They had 2 teams at WCG and the 2nd team(im not sure which one) got paid from their sponsors in Indo. They have got few strong sponsors over there and paid their all expenses.
