D-day is finally here! It's 9:30pm, bit of a late blog but unfortunately I'm stuck with the red eye flight so I've got some time to kill until then.
The whole lead up to this event has been very short notice in terms of lineups, confirmation that we'll be attending and obviously the preparation as a team. I'd be lying if I said that we feel 100% ready for this comp but then again with the confirmed teams attending, I don't think 100% will be necessary.
Having to play with 3 new players that have switched from the dark side has been an extremely different experience! I don't think in my whole cs career I've ever merged with the competing rival team, so this experience was definitely unexpected! So far everything has run smoothly, we all get along great and there is no sense of selfishness or jealousy in the team, every player is comfortable with one another. The chemistry in game is there and I'm really excited to see how we execute what we've practiced in a competitive environment.
Personally I've been stuck with a lot of issues lately (losing my job, having to move house 4 days post arriving back in Australia, trying to claim centerlink before I leave but failed, etc, etc.) but I've done my best to squeeze in some CS wherever possible whether it be 10am death match bots or 3am iPGN disasters with amuse. I'll take whatever I can get! I think as a team we feel quite confident within ourselves but at the same time we don't want to get to ahead of it all. We know that we're going to be the underdogs at this event and that TitaNs and WeMadeFox won't really know what to expect, and we're hoping to use this to our best advantage.
I'll be arriving in Taiwan first at approx mid day local time tomorrow (3pm EST) where I'll be alone up until the rest of the boys arrive from Brisbane later that night around 8pm! We worked out it would make alot more sense flying me directly from Perth rather than rerouting me to the east coast, and I'm quite happy with that decision! (haha have fun on china air boys).
Taipei seems like a very vibrant city and luckily we don't have any games until Monday, so we will be making best of our weekend - exploring Taipei and maybe fitting in a prac if we can find a team to play! So far nothing has been organised in terms of practice or bootcamps but we've been told there are plenty of net cafes around the apartments we're staying in so if we need to go counter-strat or dry run it shouldn't be a problem.
Any who's I better finish packing and mentally prepare myself for a very lonely flight with my good friend the iPod! Just wanted to thank a few people as well before jet setting; first of all Tony (Sent1nel) who has very generously helped us get across to Taiwan in such short notice. VHM, mousegazm, QLD pug teams and any other teams who gave us the best possible prac in such short notice! Really appreciate it. All the boys in the team for making this all possible. Beedee for being beedee! haha and well all of the Aussie cs scene because I hope we'll be receiving as much support possible! It's never been a disappointment in the past so keep it up Australia! Over and out!

good luck fergus, i'll be watching your games, coz YOU are MY biggest fan

Also it says that esl tv will show every single match, so I'm guessing they'll play a match at a time until everyone's played. No idea if there'll be hltv but probably not since IEM tournys don't usually have them for every match.
