Sunday night in the hotel we talked over strats and things to do on the day of our games in the apartment for a few hours, and had a reasonably early night (around 12am) but none of us could sleep as we were all pretty excited for the games on Monday. We also were attacked by mosquitoes the entire night making it impossible to sleep with everyone waking up every 30 minutes to the sound of a buzzing in your ear.. very turd.

We probably slept about 3-4 hours total and woke up at around 8am and had showers n got ready. We arrived at the event in time and we were told we could setup straight away which was a huge relief as we were able to aim_map and get used to the pc's and setup.

We warmed up for about an hour and were feeling really good, we had edge7 from Taiwan first up and decided to veto dust2 and tuscan, feeling we would fair a lot better on train or nuke vs the Asian teams. They got rid of inferno and nuke so train it was which we were very happy about! We ran a fast mid pistol which worked in our favour I managed to kill 2 and swindle up the tower and me and gaz won a 2v1 to finish off the round. We lost the first gun round but managed to buy again and win the next round which put them on the back foot and they had to double eco which put us in a very good position as T’s. We were able to split the outside bombsite with ease and they had trouble to stop our fast pushes. As CT we won the pistol and the game was pretty much over, we finished it off something like 16-4.

We had about an hour wait for our next game vs Titans which was the make or break game of our whole tournament so we were really g’d up and went to the food court to get a bite to eat and talk over what we were going to do in the game. We decided that we wanted to play Titans on inferno or nuke so we veto’d the same 2 maps against them and it was left to strykerX to choose nuke or inferno, he was a bit hesitant and decided in the end that he wanted to play inferno. We actually wanted to play on Terrorist side first as we felt if we could get momentum early and get at least 9 rounds we were in a really good position because our CT side is very good on inferno.

They won the knife and chose CT. We won T pistol and jumped out to a huge lead 5-1 before ferg and apoc's pc failed and we let them back in the game with their aggressive play.. Apoc and ferg played really well this T half getting important picks in b/mid which allowed us to take control of the map most of the time. We did stuff up a lot of our A strats and let them get 7 rounds. We had a small talk and knew we needed to win the CT pistol which we did and just started from there. Our A defence seemed too much for titans to break and we managed to seal the game off 16-10 without being really in danger at all the 2nd half. The team was REALLY fired up after this game and we were all screaming at each other it was a great feeling!

Now knowing we had guaranteed 1st place in our group and were to play UMX in the semi we laid back a bit vs ka4 but still managed a big win of something like 16-4. There was a lot of spectators watching us and congratulating us after the days play which was awesome. We hung around for a little at the event before jumping in a cab home to the apartment as we were all pretty drained from the games.

Nothing too exciting tonight we just headed down to a traditional Taiwanese restaurant and got 3 delicious dishes for dinner, 2 chicken dishes and some fried prawns with rice for around $60 AUD for the 5 of us! We walked back to the apartment and have just been studying some UMX demo's and reading up on dicevip threads (thanks for the support guys it means heaps :D). We are not going to take UMX lightly as we are in a really good position to get through to the grand finals to probably vs WMF. We feel confident we can put up a really good fight vs WMF as long as we play to our strengths and don't get intimidated by them, were hoping to really win this event and show the world that Australia can compete vs one of the best Asian teams!
