WCG QLD QUAL - EOI

Hi, just a good long chat with Rocky who is organising the WCG.Looks like I have been given control of the QLD Qualifier :DSo, as my first act of business, i brought up changing the location of the QUAL to Eyslium. Due to the announcement of the other games already live, the Qualifier will probably be either 2nd October (preferred) or the week after that if Elysium is already booked. If we can show there is enough interest, we can get it changed.
So, baring in mind, that myself + jim will be running the qual, and it will be at Elysium, on let's say the 2nd of October (or the week after is there is a booking clash). Who would be interested in playing ?If you are a just a single person,...

CSPromod: 1.07 Release this weekend

Although many may have forgotten about CSPromod and written the project off, their latest version BETA 1.07 is scheduled to be released this weekend if all goes to plan. The previous version of the game actually showed a lot of promise of being a really solid game, and this version continues on from its successful groundwork with various tweaks, additions, changes, and bugfixes.
Some noteable changes that have been fixed over the past months are as follows, with presumably many more in the final build:- Added 1.6 style smoke grenade.- Throwing nades is now exactly like 1.6.- Fixed Famas burst...

DICEVIP Website Updates

As you all may have noticed, for the past few weeks the DICE site has been less than functional in both appearance and features, and was even down for a day or 2. The reason for this is because the website is hosted on iPGN servers, and someone swapped an array at their data centre which messed up all user-uploaded content and some site functionality (such as being able to edit news articles). This also had a huge effect on the iPGN website and game servers, as well as CyberGamer competitions and the EAC servers. As most things are back to normal now and have been for a while we've had the task of trying to figure out what to do about all the lost data, and no matter how hard we tried there was simply nothing that could be done...

Midcity Melbourne Competition Draw

Here's the draw for the Midcity Melbourne CS1.6 Competition for this Sunday, 3rd July 2011. If teams are on time and the comp sticks to schedule there should be enough time for an additional short lunch break but I cant make any promises as its going to be up to the teams and how everything goes on the day. I will be as strict as possible on starting times so dont be late! Maps will be decided on the day by a captain veto, rego is $15 per player / $75 per team, and prizes is winner takes all (wont be much). Winner will be decided by standings after the Round Robin, with any ties being resolved via head-to-head, followed by round-difference if need be. See you all there! :D

Hey Guys,There's been a bit of a delay due to uni comitments, but now we now the finalists are ready to play the last game of the Cybergamer invite league. On Wednesday night, MindFreak.Razer will take on Team.Exile5 for the extra $500
The last time these two teams played was at the DICEVIP Nationals in January. With some counter-stratting by MindFreak, they were able to win the match. Inferno proved to be a close game for both teams at the nationals - which is the second map in the best-of-three final. Dicevip...

I thought it was a great article by Nix0n and I know a lot of you don't read HLTV.org regularly so I wanted to make everyone aware of the happenings of this weekend as there are a lot of great games coming up. If you'd like to watch any of the games, head over to HLTV.org for either the HLTV details or a stream link, whichever there may be.

CGa S2 Grand Final

With Green league drawing to a close, we have just one final game to play out to decide who will go home with the major prize. Defending New Zealand we have Storm.cn, the asian powerhouse, and for Australia we have Turtles. Inc, who've also proved themselves worthy adversaries so far in the competition. Both teams dispensed of their Semi-Final opponents without much difficulty, Storm.cn beat MQR in two maps; 16-11, 16-3, whilst Turltes took down Apotheosis 16-9, 16-3.
So who will come out on top in the CyberGamer Amateur Green League Grand Final?

CyberGamer Season 2 CGp Semi-Finals

Black league has finally gotten around to finishing off the games for the season, with an inevitable tie coming between the winners of the game from Bestnless v Archaic.nz and Athletico, the finals were pushed back in hope of getting the game played out properly. Unfortunately Bestnless did not wish to play out the game when they were told that they could not make finals as Athletico had previously beaten them head-to-head.
Therefore we have a tie between Athletico and Archaic.NZ, which in the case of two teams,...

With WCG Australia just around the corner I thought its about time for the Melbourne CS community to start becoming more active. Being almost 6 months since the last local comp (the longest Melbourne has been without a lan comp since I can remember) I wont be expecting a huge turnout, but teams will be able to have a lot of fun playing numerous matches in a round-robin format for a cheap price to get back into the swing of things!

The first and only NSW Qualifier for the 2011 Australian WCG Finals has been announced and registrations are now officially open. The event is being ran by Red Carpet Gaming, but Pacman will be helping out with the CS side of things. There will also be a ton of other games being played at this event so it will be great for all to come check out!
We cant stress enough the importance of players and teams showing interest in this qualifier, as the rest of Australian CS depends on this competition...

Finals are upon us once again with the Green league heading into the Semi-final playoffs this Sunday. We had a three way tie between Apotheosis, intheMoment and Storm.cn for the final two placings. With each team on 4 wins and 3 losses it came down to a matter of rounds to decide whom would go through.
Storm.cn with a difference of +14 rounds will be seeded 3rd above Apotheosis with a difference of +12 rounds whilst iTM with a difference of just +1 round narrowly missed out and unfortunately will not be participating in the finals....

City Hunter CS1.6 3v3 Tournament completed

City Hunter Autumn Tournament: CS 1.6 3v3
Yesterday City Hunter Chinatown held a 3v3 tournament in what was their first self-ran competition in a long time - which they hope to do many more of in the future. Unfortunately we didn't know about it earlier so apologies to any that would have been interested, but it appears it was a great event for a bit of fun and good to see lots of new faces playing the game.
The tournament used maps de_dust, de_bloodstrike, and de_bridge, and in a 3v3 format it might have been a bit unusual to most competitive players, but the prizes were...
