hey.... fair new to Counter-Strike and was wondering if anyone could give me some advice? i've played shooters before like cod 1,2 and 4, urt, css etc, havn't had the best of pasts (cheated in pretty much all games cept cod2) looking to play legitly and to solely enjoy the game. 1 main problem about the game is i really can't aim/spray correctly, and by correctly i mean pretty much every person i spectate, when spraying there crosshair pretty much stays in the same spot and bullets go straight, i dont know if i can explain this well but when i try my bullets fly everywhere (using 1.0 sens in cs, 6 without enhanced precision or w/e in windows) even if keeping the crosshair pretty much still.. wouldn't mind some tips and advice... would like to play this game at abit higher level then pubs... could anyone suggest some websites etc

could be your fps / rates
fps_max 101, make sure vsync is turned off on your graphics card
cl_cmdrate 101
cl_updaterate 101
rate 20k
get IRC and play some pugs, meet players

not cheating would be your best bet.

but #ipgn-comp would be your best bet to practice, read the rules etc. and you should be fine

sens seems a little low, although that should make it easier to spray...
what mouse do you use

scm has listed all the necessary stuff, if you still find it hard to aim then maybe it might be your internet connection? packetloss / choke can play a big part in it too + the server's your playing on can influence how well your hits register too (they can be crap).
most people here play ipgn casually, so download mirc, register to ipgn-comp and play. ignore any negative comments too :)

get a v3 mouse
higher your senstivity
play lots of bots and spray into walls untill u figure out the spray pattern

dont play ipgn. You will turn into what the majority of the new community has and develop the worst possible play style, for you playing public servers and running around your own made server with bots just spraying and targets and getting a feel of how the game works will be 100 times more beneficial to someone like you, than joining an ipgn comp

alternatively join a few different deathmatch servers to get a feel for the game and help zero in on your aim / spray patterns

It can be frustrating learning a game when you spend a lot of the time dead. Try those just to get you started.

pretty much what they say.. you can also download the deathmatch pod bots for your own lan server.. they are pretty good at times, and it helps you with reaction times, aim, spraying, everything :)
