Alright let's explain 'ex_interp',
ex_interp is used to predict where other players are, especially in the case of lost packets/lag.
A player with no lag would follow this path: A, B, C, D, E
A player with lag might lag through certain points of the path: A, D, E
ex_interp will predict that the lag player would pass through the points B and C.
If you had a high ex_interp, and were to shoot the lag player when he is going through the predicted points (B or C), there would be no bullet registration (rego).
As you can most likely guess already, ex_interp is a client command; it does not affect other players. It is only what you see. Most players do not understand this, especially with rumours circulated by 'certain players / OGGERZ'.
The higher the ex_interp (0.1), the more prediction.
Smoother models for laging players, but less rego.
The lower the ex_interp (0.01), the less prediction.
Choppier models for laging players, but more accurate positioning.

Hello Jakuel
good read.
Back in CS 1.5 there was an ex_interp bug -- If person was strafing sideways through A,B,C and you used ex_interp exploit, your game would allow you to see him before he actually moved. So he'd really be at B, but you'd see him at C.
I think on gotfrag they demonstrated this on inferno banana with the ex interp changing intervals.. from the T side you could see the CT strafing out

Basically the morale of the story is IPGN admins are retarded for locking 0.01 interp and making my game look like its under the effects of a strobe light.

True. IPGN should allow you to do ex_interp 0.1
Game is too jaggy for me with them servers
Rego is a problemo

I'm 98% sure interp has alot to do with getting dragged. iPGN was full of people using 0.1 and all I remember is getting dragged all over the place. Best thing iPGN have ever done is locked 0.01 - Noobs cant frag and I dont die behind a wall against a glock/usp.

I refer you to this article: "Counter-Strike: 1.6 Netcode Explained" http://www.gotfrag.com/cs/story/5577/Relevant Information: -The relationship between ex_interp and cl_updaterate is extremely important; do not read one recommendation without reading the other. -ex_interp: Set this variable to 0 and nothing else.

ill give u the easiest way to understand it, online in australia is too shit and the servers are terrible to play using 0.01, 0.01 is the best setting for 'rego' _ONLY_ if the server can handle it and its on a LAN network or very good online server/connection. use 0.1 online and if anyone tells you different they don't know shit and should win a nats.
