Nothing confirmed (what sam mentioned or an ECN) however something will be run this year, and it will include Perth.

Coles salad and tuna? Cost2Taste ratio must be off the scale!!1
Shedding light would be I am giving esau a purpose that matches its name again; and helping run an ECN would definitely fit into the goals for it. Won't be 'competing' with DiceVIP, will be helping/supporting. Nothing too outrageous ;)

GoMeZ, I was suggesting I'd help you; unless you don't want it - in which case you could always go die in a ditch and I'll keep doing my thing ;D
EDIT: hmm that was randomly harsh; what I mean is, I don't care if you're too uppity to accept my help, it's not going to prevent me from fixing esau

Because ESAU shouldn't just be a throw-away forum for 1.6 only people. It should be a site for eSports in Australia. So that's what I'm doing (and me alone)
If others wish to help, or at least suggest things that ESAU should have on it - you're welcome to; but I fully appreciate the fact that people expect nothing from it ;)
EDIT: And I won't be touching what's there until what I've started is complete, or at least functional for use. I might post articles of progress or something (not that anyone would care until product is done, last thing we need is more Australian eSports Vaporware :P)

pandan, while I do appreciate and support your motivation to contribute and help, ESAU is not the community to do it for.
Read the threads. 1 in every 10 relate to e-sports. Calling it ESAU is no longer valid, it's more like a left-over troll website that people who no longer play CS still frequent out of habit.
Now don't take what I'm saying in negative light but I ask you to open your eyes a little bit -- there's a REASON why the Dice community has flourished! And I can tell you that is has 100% to do with the failure and simultaneous disrespect that ESAU has for the E-sports of Australia community
Australia doesn't need two half-blown community websites for counter-strike. it needs 1 massive hub. And trust me, Dice is where it's at - not ESAU.

Yer I agree with sommi tbh.. I never go on ESAU anymore because its the same 20 people who don't even play the game and talk shit like geeks all day. You still see banter on DICE but everything is CS related which is what ESAU use to be. May aswell bring a new name out because I'm quite sure everybody is over ESAU.

Australian esports as a whole already has one massive hub - its called cybergamer. Trying to convert ESAU into something that would even come within 10% of what CG already has done and is capable of doing would require so much time, effort, money, and man-power that it simply isnt worthwhile or possible. Even in the unlikely chance you do succeed, all u've done is created a 2nd hub which is exactly what uve said u dont want to do (have numerous, split, half-blown websites).
Theres no reason to start from scratch when there are already fully functioning websites/communities with tons of resources available. If you want to focus purely on 1.6 - contribute to dice, if you want to focus on esports as a whole - contribue to cybergamer.
If all you want to do is simply run events under the ESAU brandname, thats fine, but if you genuinely want to make it a hub of australian esports then i really cant see any positive outcome that could come of it tbh (for both you, and australian esports as a whole).

Whoa dave, I have a heavily vested interest in CyberGamer (I thought that was obvious), and I can't ever see me NOT supporting DICEVIP. ESAU won't be competing with either (nor hosting events, but will help with running them). I'm thinking closer to a cadred/hltv w/ a database it closer to what I'm planning.

i just run the CS leagues so you guys have a steady stream of comp matches leading to events like dicenats and WCG so its not frantic bootcamp before wcg then wing it :>
Leagues are as much designed to keep you guys sharp and keen and see if we can liven the community up a bit.
