I have been rather sick this weekend with almost nothing to do and decided to skip university work for some fun time on a good ol' game of Counter-Strike. After hearing how popular ipgn comp was I decided to sign up and played my first friendly game where little to no words of abuse were exchanged between fellow teammates and between both teams. I decided to play a second game and boy, it didnt take long for a bunch of assholes to start bitching about each other in the most absurd and cocky way. These bad mannered fellows included some douche named anfonniee who sounded like he hadn't seen sunlight since he was forced by his mother to hang the washing one saturday afternoon. Another fellow was some kid called fBz who did quite a nice clutch and i complimented his efforts in return with a "please dont talk to me". Then there was some other guy called mafu who proceeded to tk me in the first round for no reason at all. So, my point you may ask? Of course nobody wants to play cs anymore, I mean who can seriously put up with a bunch of whiney annoying brats over the internet and enjoy a nice friendly game of cs once in awhile? Its not the game, its the people in it. Maybe the mute button really does have its purposes.

Yes its true, whats left of the cs community is now an online, baiting, bantering, stat whoring piece of shit. The problem is that people STILL playing the game regularly, have really shit lives, and therefore, still take the game (ipgn comp) far too seriously, for the online shitfest that it is.
The morale of the story is to uninstall the game, and go buy sc2 or practise hon until dota2 comes out.

Hey Alex, thanks for the advice, instead I decided to wake up and spend my sick Sunday morning finishing off the Deadspace 1 campaign. I didn't have any space aliens banter me so it was a great experience. SC2 is a great game add me - zac@ozaboriginal.com.au

*EDIT* in all seriousness 2 years ago i use 2 take this game very seriously and was a very good sport, but admins failed 2 eradicate the stains of the community like sponny etc and now quite frankly i dont give a fuck about good conduct or any of that.

cs in aus is dead for a reason.. the dregs of the game ruined it for everyone else.
Kaned and fishballz are pretty much on the mark, just go buy sc2. You can play that competitively/casually and has the biggest community worldwide.

Wow I nearly started a thread like this a few days ago.
I cannot fucking believe half the wankers on ipgn comp.
I hadn't played CS for the past 4-5 years, not even kicking around in pub and decided to fire it up for some fun because we are having an old school comp in a few weeks.
Unfortunately you'd be surprised how shit you are when you start playing again. I mean you do REALLY dumb shit. Like the other day I killed a guy on an eco and didn't bother to pick up his gun. You think your aim is shit but what you really lose is awareness and timing.
So anyways it turns out these day that there are these fkn pug heros that feel the need to flat out abuse anyone who isn't playing at their standard. I mean they can't even have a laugh they are wound so tight.
I honestly couldn't believe it. Even when I was playing for fzero/nK I never abused people because they weren't as good as me at fkn counter-strike. No wonder the scene is dying.
Who would want to join assholes like redrum_hk to name one? This kid thinks his fkn shit don't stink.
Some guys are cool eg props to dekko for getting me acquainted with ipgn comp.

ipgncomp is disgusting and its not just the players.
The Rego is retarded honestly, only certain people get rego it is so bad. Some people on there just absorb bullets and even the recoil is fucked.
However, people with Telstra / Optus cable seem to be sweet.

i think we can all agree that ipgn comp is nothing compared to warring with your mates, apart from the occasional banter from people (no problem in my books) playing with your mates is great... i go play ipgn when im bored and i must say some times you get a team, and you will get along with them all and its great fun. But seriously being continuously yelled and by some1, and then muting them and still hear them yelling through some1 else's mic is just stupid, you play this game for fun, not to abuse people

Yeah I knew who Nitro was so I was more inclined to help him. Plus I started playing just when he was finishing up his gaming stint and he always seemed like a genuinely nice guy. I would willingly spend hours trying to get these sort of older players back in to the community then waste time with all of these new players who do nothing but say utter useless shit like "DO YOU LIFT/DRIFT BRO?", ujelly, umad, etc etc.
Also, the rego on the ipgn servers is fine. Honestly. There's nothing wrong with it. If you think there's a problem, it's nothing other than your poor aim. I'm with TPG and have never experienced any problems... even to the point of being able to play fine with 100-120 ping at times (other players can vouch).

Jim I'm sure there's plenty of better ISPs out there.. just saying TPG hasn't let me down once. I'm sure people have different experiences with different companies.
jks - that's your oppinion and I'm guessing that's why you don't play it. I'm all for the scrims but when I waste close to an hour trying to look for one, ipgn seems to be the easier choice.

If you mainly tap tap on there you probably wouldn't notice the lack of rego as much.
But if you were mainly a burst / spray player you certainly fucken notice it.
Or as I've already stated you just happen to be one of the lucky ones that gets rego.

Barely any of the better players complain about rego, why is this? If they are complaining it is usually because they are having an off day (everyone has them).
