from what i know, the Sydney redbull qual is cancelled due to sponsors pulling out.

All prizes are on hold by sponsors and will only be given if they do the rest of WCG correct.

Melb wcg is pending on the 27th august.

Its pretty much fucked

you know aus cs is dead when the euros are complaining and having problems with their scene yet its still bigger than when cs was at its hight here in aus. Its time to move on and wait for a potential CS2 release as thats the only thing that will bring competitive cs back in aus. 1 or two big lans wont change anything.

terrible news they wanted it too big too soon, forgetting about the community is the main factor in this.

they could of gotten head/leaders from different communities to help out with there issues. but no they did not, they wanted to run everything take control over everything this has made major communities doubt the name franchise WCG. look at ACL PRO a GREAT community and very well ran but the TLS guys wanted nothing to do with the communities making that there down fsll.

um cobbie I get the impression some young collared ethnic in his late teens wanted to fund a night out @ the ivy for him and his brightly coloured friends and so contacted WCG with a "business proposal". Of course the actual members of the CS community were too preoccupied with the rate of Sponny's Christian Bale-Machinist-esque weight loss and the abuse thereof to notice that the World Cyber Games Australian qualifier would ultimately be manifested in little more than a slight bump in Justin Hemmes' May takings.

The CoD event has already been pulled from the EB Expo GC.

Apparently national finals now moved to CityHunter Chinatown.

Wouldn't hold my breath, we won the qual and prizes are still flights and accomodation in SYDNEY. We won with a full Sydney team..

Hey Everyone,

Well i can say with confidence that we are 100% commited behind the WCG 2011 program.

To try and answer all the questions i can ... but please remeber there is a lot here :D

So first Sydney prizes... we are commited to providing the prizes, we have issues with our sponsors providing them to us, once we have the prizes of the values commited to we will be provide a further update to the community.

Melb quals have been confirmed! 27th of August, whilst i know its short notice, i'll be down in person to ensure the comp runs as smoothly as possible.

SGL rocky, am I right to book my flights to queensland for the qualifier in september?

i wouldn't recommend it, as no offical release or confirmation of dates has been made yet.

I have ask for all dates to be stripped from the redcarpetgaming website to stop confusion.

We are right now still confirming the venue for QLD so ... CoNz ... NO don't book flights untill you have see confirmation of the dates and venue, would be my recommendation

The only venue you should be looking at in QLD is Elysium. Most likely the best cafe in aus.

If you're having problems with sponsors providing the prizes for the sydney quals how can we be sure that the same problems wont happen for the melb & other quals, and that the problems will even be solved at all?
