vex: To get the WCG licence is not cheap, you need to present an amazing proposal as well as showing you can actually run it properly. With everything that happened, did the owners of WCG have any idea what was happening in Australia?
Casua1ty: I would believe so and I would believe they were ok with that. When things started going wrong, I started looking through TLS's documents, including their proposal to the international body (and also found correspondence showing they helped organise the 2010 WCG with CBN Media). The proposal absolutely disgusted me, as it did not mention PC gamers at all (including in the resources required where you are supposed to list what computers, xboxes, etc you need). I think from memory, they proposed 5 events, all held at locations like the "Ivy" in Sydney, or other hotels/bars, for less than 50 participants, and cocktails for the gaming media. Each event would cost 30k+, and not be for the gaming community whatsoever. Perhaps even worse, was the proposal to only fly
