Hello everyone, ever since the launch of the Worlds Ultimate Gamer show came on in Australia, i was exstatic, ive always wanted a show like that, well, you see, ive grown interest in WCG, and im thinking that i might join in 2010, but im new to this site so if anyone can help me/ explain what ill need to do to register my self in the WCG australia it would be much appreciated.

to play for the WCG Australian National in 2010 (and im assuming your talking about for counter-strike, if not then its somewhat different) then you will simply need to sign up a team to the local lan qualifiers (vic/syd/qld) and qualify wiht that team to the nationals.
In order to improve ur chances of qualifying, simply make a team with friends or get urself known in the community by entering every local lan tournament that pops up from now until then so you can improve in skill/experience/etc.
Your profile says ur from vic - which if thats the case every VIC cs 1.6 lan tournament will be advertised on this website (dicevip.com) so just keep checking back here for updates on when tournaments/etc are.
As far as i know there'll be a comp in approximately 3 weeks near the end of november - so stay tuned for that. Just scrim online with mates or try join a team and get urself known! :D gl

thanks Dave, also, is Counter strike the only games being played on Dice? it would be cool if theres like Crysis, Farcry, you know the AWSOME games out there xD
So, to get in WCG all i need to do is enter in ANY Lan comp, or a specific WCG supported one, such as Dice?
Rey, Dave, and Pollex, i know lol, WCG on tv is abit cheesy, i bet i can beat them all with my eyes closed, and the best player apparently "Prodigy X" didnt even win the FIRST challenge, but i must say he demolished it, he won.

DICE only covers Counter-Strike 1.6
As for gaming centres, the only three that have held competitions there are:
- Zone AdrenaLan (CBD) - CRT Screens
- MC Gaming (CBD) - LCD Screens
- iBisQ (Hawthorn) - LCD Screens

#6 geo the wcg ultimate gamer show, it was quite cheesy but i actually genuinely enjoyed it and it improved significantly week upon week (the first week or 2 were quite average but it actually got really good down the track). if there was another season, id watch it in a second.
re: #8 - to get into WCG you need to enter the qualifier, and then qualify through that (ie. place top ~3-4) - i simply suggested entering any/all other lan tournaments (such as dice ones) to improve your skills and better ur chances of qualifying, as it wont be easy. And yes dice only covers counter-strike 1.6 and its events.
The internet cafe's used for cs 1.6 lan competitions in australia are the 3 beedee listed in #10 for VIC (ZAM, MC, ibisq), CityHunter / Istar (beyond) in SYD, and Elysium in QLD. With national australian finals either at seperate hired out venues or most likely one of elysium/MC.

#14, This TAG of mine (Virtuoso X) has been with me since i started playing games, i never thought the day would come when anyone would say to change my TAG :P sorry but i will / can never change my TAG, my Tag is who i am, and who i am is my TAG
#15...i know right xD it is inspirational, but at the same time fustrating when you know you can beat them :P

source is not more popular than 1.6 at all, it is only more popular online in australia, yet not at LAN
they dont even have source for WCG so theres your dream gone.
1.6 is more popular than source anywhere outside aus
