So I've been playing on the same wooden table since I've owned a computer, never really noticed anything wrong with it, seem to be able to move my mouse okay and frag everything in my view.
However lately I've been considering buying a proper mouse pad (i've had bad experiences with shitty cloth pads), so just wondering, what do you use? any recommendations? and does it make that much a difference (is it smoother to move mouse, does it skip less, etc). And is there that much of a differences between all the different pads (apart from size obviously) was looking at

Thanks

nah, just i've had some really doggy cheap, bad ones. I'd go for good ones in a heart beat, just need recommendations on good pads (any type, as long as its reliable pad).
I'm leaning towards the Razer Goliathus Speed pads after talking to sakura, and dippa also mentioned razer pads.

QCK's or Everglide Titans are generally your safest bet for a first mousepad...

After selling these pads for years, it's safe to say for someone new to pads, getting a fast cloth pad is the best bet. Steelseries Team Pads Steelseries QCK+ Steelseries QCK+ Heavy/Mass Razer Mantis Speed Razer Goliathus Speed Most/All of these should be available from either http://www.pccasegear.com.auhttp://www.eften.com.auBoth are amazing sites, and both in VIC.

Just to add,
Hardpads are also very good, but i wouldnt suggest one for you. They require a 100% clean mouse and mousepad at all times, and continual use of Mouse Skates.
Ease into it, just get a QCK+ or Golithus Speed (decent size 300x300 or bigger)

I've used quite a few pads ramuss, and yeah gomez is def right, cloth pads all the way. Only hard decision is whether to pay $40+ for a QcK+/heavy or to pay $25-30 for a razer. I'm a steelpad man personally ^^
