According to the new press releases, WCG this year will be split in two - one event FIFA 10 and Asphalt 5, and another tournament for Counter-Strike 1.6.
The first tournament will be held June 19-20 at the SuperNova Pop Culture Expo while the Counter-Strike arm will begin in July with the Sydney based finals to be held in August.
To ensure the PC Gaming community is looked after we're putting the finishing touches on a CounterStrike 1.6 tournament that will be held later in July via cyber cafes, with a Sydney-based final to be held in August. The winning team will book its ticket to LA for the world final.
The Asian Championship that features DOTA, Forza 3 and FIFA 10 will still remain as a seperate event on it's own that will commence on the 9th of July.

P.S. Is FIFA10 pc or console?
~_~!
that was actually the best aye, fifa comp @ james squire brewery with ultra hot promo girl. How good's GT Hybrid
With such strong games played at the final (like Tekken and Guitar Hero), why there is no final event in Australia, is a crying shame.
At the least, CBN could recognise strong communities (who made submissions to participate) and run tournaments to determine WCG Australia champions in name, if not as sponsored entrants to the LA tournament.
It seems WCG is likely to fade away and die at this rate.
Fifa on PC? !@#!@%
I'm actually dumbfounded.
