Rumours of WCG.au Finals commencing this month have been confirmed after we contacted CBN Media and MC Internet today - the finals will be on the 24th this month, an official announcement will appear on the Australian WCG Website later today.
Talk of a finals on the 24th first circulated when our readers came across this Supanova post, however as it directly contracted an announcement made by WCG earlier, which is now no longer a news item, quoting a Sydney based finals in August, it didn't seem like reliable information - especially when there were no follow up posts on the official Australian WCG website.
Official WCG schedule
18th July - All state qualifiers (VIC, NSW, QLD) will be run on this date
24th July - 2010 WCG.au Finals
Like last year, the qualifiers will be limited to only Eastern teams with Midcity (MCC Internet), Beyond, and Elysium playing hosts to the qualifiers on the 18th.
A registration thread for the Queensland WCG Qualifier has already been placed up on ESAU, and a Victorian registration thread will follow shortly on DICE. As to who is organising the Sydney qualifier is a mystery.

It's all well and good running nationals like ECN and Dice Nats, but really WCG is the only event that actually goes somewhere, and they consistently fuck it up. I feel sorry for the event organisers who only found out recently as well who have to try and plan this shit in a few weeks.
With so many people willing to help, why wont they let some of us into their Circle, we could of organised it all for them months ago.
The thing that annoys me (and what can change) is that people from this community have been ringing up trying to get information for the past few months with no success.
It's really not hard to see how they are going wrong, no1 that works for CBN plays CS, so you can see how they dont quite understand why we complain at these things.
If they opened up the trust circle and let some of the CS organizers into it, things would run better.
Nats will be aShock fergsteam immunity in top3.
:D
nice team tho :) should do v.well
