Our friends across the tasman will begin their qualifiers for WCG 2010 as xLAN, New Zealand's WCG hosts, kicks off today.

Group stage matches are scheduled to go live 6:00pm NZST (4:00pm AEDST) and we've been informed that there will be no HLTV until the finals beginning Saturday.

Match Schedule

Friday: Group stage
Saturday: Quarter & semi final
Sunday: Grand final

Four teams from each group will advance to the playoffs on Saturday which will be a Bo3 single elimination bracket. All quarter final matches however won't be Bo3, and will be played on the predetermined map de_dust2 instead. The grand final will be played on Sunday.

Prizes

As well as earning a spot to represent New Zealand in LA for WCG 2010, the top 3 finishers will also receive $3,000 worth of prizes from Razer as well as a trophy.

$1,500 in Products + Trophy + Ticket to WCG 2010
$1,000 in Products + Trophy
$500 in Products + Trophy

	just an update for those like me that were wondering what's going on. boomser has said that the servers are rooted and the admins are trying their hardest to get them working, most likely up and running in the next half an hour.

	As far as I have heard, apparently one of the admins thought it was FIRST TO 30. I.e. He didn't get what "play out 30 rounds" meant :(
