Immunity have been crowned this years World Cyber Games champions and secured their spot at the WCG Final in Los Angeles in late september this year.
Immunity met rivals Keyboard Sports in the final after both teams went undefeated throughout group play. Coming into the final former Immunity star player Mark "deStiny" Kagan met his old teammates for the first serious time since leaving the team over a year and a half ago.
First map was de_inferno after both teams decided to veto de_nuke and de_tuscan respectively, with an impressive pistol round strategy Immunity won the first round and were looking good, next round purchasing the usual weaponry and attempting to hit the B bombsite. Unbeknownst to them, they would find themselves on the receiving end of a 5 man stack and some even more impressive eco kills which saw KBS win the round.
KBS erupted in cheering and taunting setting the score at 1-1, but their cheers would soon fade, as Immunity chose to hit the B bombsite again but with just desert eagles this time, Gareth "gazR"Lynn pulling off an amazing shot on the solo player in the site, which gave them enough motivation to take out the round leaving KBS speechless and all of the Immunity players screaming back even louder.
After some back and forth battles, it appeared KBS had them on the ropes until Otis "pupajoN" Duncan and Justin "Kurandus" Evans pulled off some incredible clutch play over the course of the last few rounds of the half.
The second map would see Immunity start as Counter Terrorists on de_Dust2. Immunity jumped out to a handy 12-0 lead thanks to some clever Counter Terrorist tactics by Gareth "GazR" Lynn. KBS were able to fight back and make it 12-3 at the break. KBS then continued their streak posting another six on the board. Rounds were then traded until some nice eco play by Miles "Rize" O'Connor crippled KBS' money leading into what would be the final round.
Immunity rushed into B site following a pick and were able to hold off the KBS retake and took the map 16-12.
