Archaic E-Sports now feature two Counter-Strike 1.6 divisions after adding the premier New Zealand 1.6 team
Parallax.
The 7 time WCG.nz champions had been without an organisation for much of its existence with the exception of a short lived stint under
TSW (Team Sidewinder) during 2008, where they had appearances at WCG, AINC and KODE5.
Although the exact reasons why they left
TSW back in 2009 were never published, one can only guess it was due to disagreements between the team and the management - something which shouldn't happen in their new home as Archaic's management and the team share a long history, even being former team mates in 2006 under
Style.
"We're very excited to be apart of the Archaic team and be supported by it's staff and incredible sponsors. Coming just off the back of a bootcamp and WCG NZ win, we look forward to building up momentum and proving ourselves under the new tag at WCG grand finals in LA, and at any other Australian events in the near future" - Archaic.MSI`simcore
For WCG 2010 in LA which the former
Parallax team had qualified for, Archaic will support their New Zealand team by providing them with laptops, and equipment from their sponsors, as well as flying in their coach (Scott Bednaski) to assist them with day to day, leaving the team to concentrate on their matches ahead.
"With Boomser's recent involvement in the team, coupled with the fact we were already beginning to make arrangements in assiting the Parallax boys - the choice was logical. I look forward to helping provide Parallax with some consistent practice, of which they struggle even moreso to achieve then our Australian team(s)" - Craig Warren
"Im very please to have parallax come aboard with Archaic.MSi , in the short time they have been around (archaic)i have had some of the best expirences in gaming with their support and i know they get the same support with them. The team is really excited about Los Angeles and are already underway with training for the event. The teams goal is also to visit Australia and place well here with the support from archaic.msi it seems like they will have a chance in the coming year to persue that. Personally I am good friends with a few of the memebers and i am estactic that ill be able to help the team in the future and hopefully follow them in person in the upcoming World Cyber games finals" - Scott Bednaski

Less time worrying about financials when an AU comp comes up, and more time to focus on prac and improving our game before WCG etc.
Chur, chur! ;>
aus and nz comin' at chaaaaa!
ps needs more simcore poolside interviews
ps. rules may have changed i'm quite ignorant to those of this year, but yea just basing from what ive read about the whole fnatic dilemma
I guess that implies that the manager/coach/Alpha Support team Scotty is allowed to stay behind them during the game.
Also, the WCG ruleset has freezetime at 5 seconds lol which is pretty fucken turd
Something along those lines~
hahaha
anyway we have to see when the time comes
what $29 said , trolls be trolling
also it is extremely cheap to send me. 700 return qantas first class to LA @_@
So if a return ticket would be $4000 you could do it for $400 !!!!!
AMAZING!!!

scott and craig, champions getting things done
But I cannot support this pickup. This is a dirty move and a slap into the face of the already diminishing Australian CS scene. They should pick up a second 1.6 Australian team before they look abroad to NZ and that same old team that beats all the turd cunts in NZ then go overseas and fail for the last decade.
I understand the want they have to pick up a qualified WCG team and get their name into the international scene by sending a team over but fuck like, really? Parallax? They're fucking Kiwis man what kind of self respecting Australian citizen gives anything to a Kiwi except a punch line involving sexual intercourse with a sheep?
Plus if they give these guys a scrap of gear or money before they look after the Australian players already on board then its even worse.
-End
You're responsible for both regions and I understand that, but in the end the decision to pick up the teams you want surely rest with you guys and you still made the decision to pick up an overseas team instead of another Australian one. Which is the whole point?
How about sponsoring a team of Australian players like v300 or x5 or GUTS? With a future in the game and some new and up and coming talent and not a bunch of dinosaurs from another country who have won a handful of games in like 6 years of international CS.
#54: Yes, I do choose whom I sponsor. I do not know any players (apart from face/name I guess) from x5/v300/GUTS. I will definitely assist these teams in sorting their own funding though. RE: "won a handful of games in like 6 years" - it's the same with our whole scene in aus/nz - no need to target anyone specifically.
We all are under-performing based on the talent we have here, if I'm being honest. We have like 15+ players that with time and experience could do so much better then we have as a country in the past. The only reason I started Archaic was to assist in fixing that, not unlike the people before me (x5/iM/sql) and those that will follow (kBs etc).
can't really blame them, it's a good move for them.
but as others have said - supporting another australian team would've been a better move
You guys randomly hit the roof and accused us of not playing properly, just because we were being agressive as T on train and CT inf, believe it or not (which you clearly didn't) we were actually running our strats and not acting or playing in any way that was intending to be disrespectful to you guys as practice.
Parallax has been apart of the AU scene since 2002, and never acted disrespectfully to any of the teams we play, I'd expect most people who actually socialise or compete with us on LAN can attest to that. So it's disapointing to hear some of the opinions some of you carry (PeetyG in particular), but everyone is allowed their own personal opinion and I respect the feedback fully none the less.
We'll just take it that while you may be decent prac, it's probably best that we avoid you like the plague for future prac if you're going to act a certain way Sponny.
i mean we (tna) established ~4-5 teams to prac regularly that didnt banter back (xr/nk/elusory/pure/mushin) in the space of 6 months when we still lanned
