Groups for this year's WCG have been revealed and following tradition, Australia have been drawn into the hardest possible group.
Coming off their MSI Beat It campaign, Immunity will now have to prepare for a rematch against Lions who defeated them 16-3 as well as a possible rematch with EG, the eventual winners of MSI Beat It, who also defeated Immunity, but with a much more respectable 16-10 scoreline.
It may however may prove advantageous having these teams in their group as Immunity will have first hand experience in playing them, and teams have tendencies to underestimate opponents they've defeated in the past.

Immunity is currently enroute to Stockholm to bootcamp at Inferno Online in preparation for WCG. The bootcamp will see them practice against world class teams such as SK Gaming and H2k among others over 13 days.
EG will be using tubby as 5th so they're not a gauranteed win as loaded/POV(ex-col) will have a chance, and france would either be Burning/Millenium without a doubt
ABHHAH SHIT SON, france will be BURNING more then likely. and USA is EG. possibly one of the toughest groups ive seen. EG are in form, even without lurpiss they have 2 animal fraggers in n0thing and fr0d. and the same with burning! SIXER and MAJ3R tear the best teams in the world apart.
EG won the MSI Beat IT, and iM werent that far off (and it was train, which EG said was their second best map) (and they were definitely not playing 100%, factor in lurppis and this could be closer than people think
Lol thats a bit harsh how can both 1st seeds from France and USA and the 2nd seed from sweden(would of prob been either SK or fnatic had fnatic not pulled out) be equal to Australia's team.
#12 WCG has always done a random draw, and for the majority of groups its always worked out that the top teams are evenly spread, but theres ALWAYS 1-2 groups that are stacked. But yes, a random draw is incredibly stupid.
woooooowwwwwwwww this sucks, aus has worst luck ever, and id rather a better advantage then teams who have beaten us before to underestimate us lol :P oh well gl aus!!!
Its not without hope with a good boot camp etc we can still beat EG/French team on a good day. Lions will be harder and will need 2 adapt our game, but still looking forward to it ^^.
"WCG Committee will select 2 ~ 8 competitive players (or team) per game, based on their reputations and previous records, will be given a special seeding"
"Group Drawing for each game title will be conducted by following order.
a. Announcement of seeded players (or teams) b. Group Drawing for non-seeded players (or teams) c. Group Drawing for seeded players (or teams)"
The seeded teams were: mTw wCrea WeMade Fox FragExecutors Forze Lions SK-Gaming Natus`Vincere
Draw (With seedings) done before USA and French quals were played... lets just hope some rubbish teams fluke a qual win.
as i was saying to Dave last night, last year there was 5 groups of 5 and 3 of 4, so im assuming most of the draw hasn't been completed yet. I would be shocked if there isn't another team in the Australian group. Fingers crossed for NZ? would like to see how they would do in direct competition to the Aussies.
reminiscence of KODE5 and ESWC masters for iM last year... pretty fucking disgusting considering were probably the only country that forks out over $8,000 to attend these events and 'somehow' we end up in the groups of death every time. Nevertheless keep your heads up lads! Good luck for the games and prac hard!
#27 im pretty sure there wont be any groups with 5 teams, as the draw only specifies 3 rounds of map rotation. I would imagine px are being put in one of the 3-team groups, no idea why they werent included originally though probs just a mistake.
This leaves Group B for WCG 2010 with just two teams and with two teams advancing from each group, it is likely that one team from the groups consisting of four teams, will be re-drawn into Group B.
France - BURNING?

and yeah #7, parralax??

If it is completely random, all the other groups worked out pretty damn well (All the big names in different groups really). RIGGED.

France < iM 9-16
EG < iM 14-16
EG > lions 16-9
EG > france 16-6
EG < iM 14-16
lions > iM 16-12
lions > france 16-8
lions < EG 9-16
LETS say that we beat EG and France would we have a chance to come second?? because of the point system?
dw got it
best of 3. single elim.
