DICEVIP.com are proud to announce the DICE National Cup 2010!
The first DICE National Cup in 2009 was a great success, but we always had a long term goal of turning it into a perpetual yearly event. With 2010 soon coming to a close, and with no major events on the horizon, we thought it the perfect time to hold a National-scale event, bringing in the best teams from all over Australia to compete for the title.
The focus for this year's competition has shifted from large cash prizes, to diverting funds into getting autoberths for attending players. This means that all the top teams from all across Australia will be able to attend, and will leave us more time to undertake negotiations for hardware prizes for the event.
While the dates for the qualifiers will be announced shortly and will occur during 2010, due to the limited time we had in fitting a date around the exam period the National Final itself will fall into the beginning of next year. The Final will officially be held in Melbourne, taking place over 2 days, from Saturday January 22nd - Sunday January 23rd, 2011. Like last year, we will also have the support of B1GLeague, who will be filming and broadcasting the Finals LIVE from their studio.
DICE National Cup 2010
The qualification process will differ slightly to that of last year's, with the overall tournament having 3 seperate stages. The details and dates of each stage is outlined below.
Stage 1 is the Sunrise Registrations.
(September 12th - September 19th, 2010)
This stage involves teams being able to register directly for the National Final in January. While it is not gauranteed that any teams will be granted a spot, it opens up an incredibly convenient process for teams featuring an interstate lineup or those that may be unnable to make qualifiers. There will of course be a set price, and it will not be cheap, so it is definitely not suitable for all teams.
Stage 2 is the Qualification Period.
(September 19th - TBA, 2010)
Once the Sunrise period is over, the number of spots left at the National Final will be determined and the Qualification period will begin. This stage, like all other National events, involves the process of running many LAN Qualifiers in states all across Australia. Winning teams will receive renumeration for the flights to Melbourne, but the amount will obviously depend on the turnout at qualifiers.
Stage 3 is the National Final.
(January 22nd - January 23rd, 2011)
Once all qualified teams have been determined, they will make their way to Melbourne to compete in the National Final. Here they will battle it out over 2 days, where a winner of the prizes and coveted DICE National Cup 2010 title will be found.
As more details are determined, they will be published on the DICE National Cup website made specifically for this event. There we will announce all information regarding important dates, venues, structures and rules, aswell as additional details and media.
