Exactly one year after the release of the BETA version 1.04 of CSPromod, the new and improved CSPromod BETA 1.05 has been announced for release on January 31st, 2011.
While seemingly a small incremental update by number, the changes the new version offers should be vast, with the biggest of which being being the much anticipated CS1.6 player models, proportions, and movement animations. Although only 1 model from each of CT and T is likely to be present (SAS & Leet Krew respectively) adding later models down the track should be quick and easy as all the animations will have been completed.
On top of this huge improvement there will also be many new additions, such as further customisation options, improved HUD, scoreboard, buy and team-select menus, brand new custom aim maps, possible new 'old' war maps (such as a revamped de_aztec for the competitive scene), as well as a whole host of general fixes, tweaks, and updates to both features and gameplay mechanics.
While the release date is set for January 31st, the dev team have stated that should the game be ready for release before then they will simply notify everyone and release it early should it reach a suitable level of polish. Going by their previous release's track records and delays though, I wouldn't be holding my breath.
The latest version should be a vast improvement on what was an already competitively-viable version of CS, and - fingers crossed - will be exactly what both the CS1.6 and CSS scenes need to be able to merge together and form a stable community to last many years into the future.

If i remember correctly they fixed that several months ago though way earlier in the year. Although i would expect the new CSP smokes to behave more like the new CSS smokes (they're alot thicker than a 1.6 smoke and near impossible to see through).
You gotta understand that alot of the things they will try to replicate will simply not be possible to do 100% perfectly. The game will not be a perfect replica of CS1.6 and people need to come to terms with that and just make some small sacrifices and deal with it.
For Counter-Strike as a whole to survive long-term (not just CS1.6, or CSS) i honestly think we need this game to be a success, and part of that will be us accepting the game wont be perfect and making do with what it is (that is of course under the assumption that its a very reasonable game, and not a steaming pile of shit, which based off 1.04 i cant see how it possibly would be).

P.S unban me from ipgn please
it sucks that we have been let down time and time again but for some strange reason i remain optimistic. the CSP team claims they are going to perform more regular updates now that the game has been ported to the orange box, so lets hope they don't lead us on this time.

'pm talnoy then, but then again you did use a slut under a different account in the finals ;]'
IMO this deserves a LAN ban, cheating in a grand final with prize money. This is not on Australia!!
The only time I didn't play was clearly in the finals so that would of brought our team into second place anyway? We didn't break any rules to win any prize money.
The team if anything is at a disadvantage in playing the finals without me because we have practiced together and have our own game which was not played in the finals.
In no way did we CHEAT* any1 because we still placed second. If we had placed first then yes maybe you would have an arguement but even then Our team played the whole tourney legit...practiced for it and deserves the results.
X5 has already contacted cg admins and said sorry and that for which we are. Next time we wont even bother we will just forfeit.
Ted you did open your mouth dude, lets see how much it opens in melbourne.
Should exile5 won, the result would have been overturned.
They did legitimately qualify to be in the grand final and I don't see any reason why they would be disqualified and be void of any prize money (which isn't the case).
Teddyt thats the pot calling the kettle black
As always im nearby don't be afraid to ask for any assistance in general with the website!

EDIT: Again to my point again about Sponny, My post #23 - Responded to your fat friend who didn't need to open his mouth in the first place. He clearly started all of this shit. I hope you pm'd him saying its time to grow up.
EDIT* I really couldn't care what you or your team mates think but was worried that any1 thought they were being cheated in the community and know that if you do feel cheated then we are sorry. But as a team we decided to use a slut so that at least we played a grand final out.
The only person whose instigated this ted is you, x5's already spoken to the cg admins about it but you have 2 add your 2 cents to try spoil something just because your angry over sponny. Im not gonna condone sponny's responses and ive already voiced my opinion to him about it...but whats it to you anyway if he says something smart and you dont like it?
