WCG NSW Qualifier Registrations Open

WCG

The first and only NSW Qualifier for the 2011 Australian WCG Finals has been announced and registrations are now officially open. The event is being ran by Red Carpet Gaming, but Pacman will be helping out with the CS side of things. There will also be a ton of other games being played at this event so it will be great for all to come check out!

We cant stress enough the importance of players and teams showing interest in this qualifier, as the rest of Australian CS depends on this competition having a good turnout to see the remaining WCG events go ahead (including the national final). Please do your best to make a team for this qualifier and show that CS is worthy of the event organisers showing further support in the game. Should the Australian WCG Final go ahead, it will be held on the Gold Coast, October 15-16th at the EB Games Expo.

 

Information

When: Saturday, June 25th 2011 

Time: 3pm - 10pm 

Where: City Hunter Burwood (CONFIRMED)

Cost: $40 per player ($200 per team) 

Format: Double-Elimination

          Prizes:  

1st place: Free flights and accommodation to National Finals + $750 cash + $2000 in prizes*

2nd place: Free flights and accommodation to National Finals + $500 cash + $1000 in prizes*

3rd place: $250 cash + $750 in prizes*

Additional: There will also be a ton of prizes handed out on the day including lots of freebies being given out to the general public and spectators. Registered players will also be lucky enough to be entered into raffles and door prizes of expensive gaming gear and computer hardware.

* Prizes are subject to change, and should the National Final go ahead there will also be additional invite-only spots (no autoberth) for high-placing teams to make their own way there.

 

Registration

Registration MUST be done through the Red Carpet Gaming website, via THIS LINK

Make sure to select your game as Counter-Strike 1.6, and fill in the many other details such as:
- First and Last name, e-mail, phone, address, team name, nickname, and age.

Registration must be done for each individual player (so 5 registrations per team). Please be sure to make sure you all include the same team name when registering for easy identification.

Really hope syd guys get behind this, there is a ton of great prizes and it should hopefully be an awesome event.

I will be keeping the team list up to date as much as possible, but will probably only start listing teams once all their players have regod (a couple of individual players have regod already apparently).

The venue isnt final afaik. They have 3 lans booked (all ch's) and are running all the games (LoL, css, wc3, cs, etc) over those 3 venues so they just havent figured out who will be where yet (will largely depend on numbers per game i think).

If burwood only has 6 rows it should still be fine though as its double elim so teams will be moving places throughout the day regardless of the venue id imagine just due to the number of quals they're running. Nfi about the locations or pc specs etc though

As dragon said i have to be forwarded the list from the guy actually taking regos. He gave me an updated list for the first few days but I've pm him for the past 5 days and havent gotten a response yet so im not sure when i'll be able to update it (hopefully soon).

The regos are still being taken though, so just keep signing up and making sure your team has all 5 players filled.

From what players/teams have been pming me, there are atleast 3 new teams who have regod (or partially regod):

ALPHA - defiance, eza, lukeft, seabear, coop

(As for what players have specifically regod im unsure, so i wont be adding anyone until ive 100% confirmed they have regod)

Just keep getting ur players regod and new teams signed up and there should be a really good turnout!

I'm also not sure if fala meant to rego for a diff team and accidentally put his team name as fala, or if he's just an idiot, or if its a legit rego. But one things for sure if its legit its going to be the team to beat.
