As you all may have noticed, for the past few weeks the DICE site has been less than functional in both appearance and features, and was even down for a day or 2. The reason for this is because the website is hosted on iPGN servers, and someone swapped an array at their data centre which messed up all user-uploaded content and some site functionality (such as being able to edit news articles). This also had a huge effect on the iPGN website and game servers, as well as CyberGamer competitions and the EAC servers.

As most things are back to normal now and have been for a while we've had the task of trying to figure out what to do about all the lost data, and no matter how hard we tried there was simply nothing that could be done about it. While some of the lost 'user-uploaded' content is a mere annoyance that can be re-uploaded easily (such as user avatars and personal configs), this also includes many things we host on this site such as all hltv demos, movies, files (and gallery photos - which luckily George has a backup of) that have been added over the past few years. This is obviously a huge loss and incredibly disappointing, and it was something that we would never have been able to anticipate happening, but thankfully all articles and forum threads are still intact.

Looking to the future Andyzor has formed a team of developers in order to restore all functionality to the website and even make some changes and improvements, and while we're unsure when exactly they will be completed we are aiming for the very near future and they will be done as soon as possible. We have also taken measures to ensure that the loss of data and content will never be able to happen again in the future.

We apologise for any inconvenience and we are as disappointed about what happened as I'm sure many of you are, but soon the site will be better than ever and we will be able to rebuild content from any demos or movies that the community wishes to upload, aswell as from new tournaments and events in the future.
