As an experiment to explore audio podcasts and possibly radio casts as a method for e-Sports news and media distribution, DICE have decided to launch a pilot episode for a potential podcast series aptly titled "Roll The Dice". If successful, this series may make a potential push to be broadcast on air through a non-profit radio station to further the exposure of e-Sports in the general media. This series will first and foremost ensure quality content and will never subject veteran e-Sports players to listen to the dribble and drabble of e-Sports being explained to the general public, a subject better approached through other mediums.
Now you know the boring stuff you of course need to read no more, all you need to know is that the first episode "Episode #0: An Experiment" will be hosted by Rob aka skills and feature interviews with coNz & RooK from Exile 5 and davestr1zl of GUTS - talking about their Counter-Strike beginnings as well as a look at the top contending teams heading up to the DICE national cup, but we also sneaked in a considerable amount of questions about norwegian star Oops from Dave's team.
You can stream it below or subscribe to the podcast with iTunes.
Roll the dice - Episode 0
the brisbane syd banter is in jest of course and to be taken with a grain of salt
wd hope for more soon :D
only thing i would maybe improve for future ones, is making the intro news stuff etc not go for as long if possible, or make it more interesting somehow (nfi how) like maybe even if there was just like quiet techno music or some shit in the background, or if you talked more excitedly about it so its more interesting etc or something just to break it up a little. Maybe a better option would be if you were doing it with a 2nd person and/or all of the above so you could go back and forward discussing stuff and bringing in more opinions on comps/news etc, or just alternating who does what news bit so it breaks it up
other than that was really good, just yeh the intro stuff needs spicing up somehow! :D
if u need help recording future ones id gladly help out and be involved etc if u needed it! :D
oh and last problem - i think it wasnt loud enough and too quiet? but that could just be me!
hopefully the next one is better =]
From an outsiders point of view, it was interesting to hear about the new teams being formed (I was unaware imminent are back?) and who will be threats at your nationals.
Look forward to the next one.
