Web developer wanted
 Author :
07-11-2009 02:57am

Over the most recent few months, developments to the site have decreased while the 'todo' list has increased. We're putting the call out externally to seek experienced web developers to help us expand and fix a lot of the website's issues over the coming summer break.

I'll cut to the chase and list the requirements below.

Must:
- Proficient in PHP & SQL
- Basic zend framework understanding
- Able to operate in a unix environment
- Fast learner

Desired:
- Located in Melbourne
- Have worked on similar websites / understanding of competitive gaming
- Have experience working on an hourly basis from home
- Photoshop knowledge
- Subversion experience

Primary responsibilities will be:
- Updating the website layout
- Removing a lot of javascript / cross-browser compatibility
- Expanding administration sections
- Implementing new features
- Handyman for small errors that appear now and again

So what is this job worth?

Depending on how well you meet the criteria, and examples of past work, between $20-40 per hour. This is not a full time position and at max, you'll be working 20 hours per month on the project. So it'll be perfect for a University student looking to expand their porfolio while making a bit of money on the side.

The first step of applying is to meet the criteria above. If you think you have what it takes, please send your resume including details of your past web work and experience to jobs@dicevip.com.

Please help us spread the word to anyone you might know who is fit for the position!

i meet about half the requirements, but i'm not really interested,

however, if you do end up with someone not from the community, i'd be more than happy to offer my services as a technical specification writer. Basically to document the changes required, and act as a guide for the programmer to work from

definitely someone get on this, George is great to deal with!

it's also good to see that someone isn't asking something to be done for free and actually willing to pay!

Good work as always George (also you can email me if you need a hand with any of the design stuff, I'd talk to you on irc but I never go on)
