MC Internet will host it's own MidCity Summer Competition over two weekends commencing November the 28th. The first week will be restricted to division 2 teams, while week 2 will be open on a first come first serve basis.
The division 2 leg of the competition will be a great opportunity for new teams to break into the LAN scene. The top two finishers of division 2 will receive a free placement into the second week (autobirth if you will), where the more seasoned teams will be in attendance.
| Week 1 - Div2 |
Week 2 - Open |
Date: Sunday, 29th November 2009 Time: 10:30am Teams: 6-8 Cost: $20 per player ($100 per team) Format: Group(s) with BO3 final |
Date: Sunday, 13th December 2009 Time: 10:30am Teams: 8-16 Cost: $30 per player ($150 per team) Format: Double Elimination
|
Prizes will be determined at a later date, but a rough guide would be $300 for Division 2 (excluding autobirth) and $1,000 for week 2.
Rules
In the past, my rules surrounding amateur competitions have been ambiguous. So DICEVIP will be collectively deciding which teams qualify as amateur. As such only teams with complete lineups will be considered.
- Mwheel binding to duck is not permitted.
- 32bit smoke is enforced, 16bit will result in disqualification.
- Flash bugging on purpose will incur a 3 round deduction.
- Map rotation will be announced on the day.
- Unfair player substitutions may deem a team ineligible for the final.
Registration
Registration is currently only open to Week 1 (Div2). To register, please email registrations@dicevip.com with your team name and lineup.

also i'm pretty burnt/amateur
and #48 i thought the open comp was always on the 13th? from my memory it was atleast lol
and #55 jastone > you/me :P
more players = more games LOL amuse..
working must be shown:
8 teams = 2x4 groups therefore each team will play 3 games.
10 teams = 2x5 groups therefore each team will play 4 games.
i could be wrong but im 99% sure MC has enough computers to cater for this
EDIT: 2 groups of 4 means that no one will have a bye, less setting up time, more fun for all.
If you have 5 teams, it's going to take more time with setting up, someones going to have byes and it gets pretty complicated..
I'm not familiar with MC, but if we can sit 4 teams down without them having to move to play eachother, the comp will run smoothly, may even have time for a extra game or two.
(If like ZAM you need people to move, then 5 teams would be acceptable as setting up is inevitable :)
btw, keiller not keillor D:<
